Queens-based Davidovich Bakery is suing Dunkin' Donuts for calling their new circular baked goods "artisan bagels." The bakery argues that claiming to be an artisan-style food is on the same moral level as claiming to be kosher or organic, that artisan essentially means handmade, and that Dunkin's bagels are made by robots. This is a nice way to get your bakery's name in the headlines, but honestly, removing the world "artisan" probably is not going to make a dent in Dunkin's sales. People aren't buying Dunkin's bagels in the hope that there are a few hundred fingerprints cooked into the surface -- they're buying them because the mass chain is cheap, on their way to work and serves great coffee. Sorry!

We bake our Davidovich Bagels based on old recipes passed around the world and down to us from our grandparents. Our bagel will transport you to a time when the best bagels were in Brooklyn!
